So you're thinking of becoming a member, well you can!
We welcome all University of York students to the club, and we are always looking for new committed archers or even people just up for trying something new. Novices are welcome anytime but we prefer if you could join in the first term as we are more geared up for your requirements then as we have more people on hand to teach you how to shoot.
So why not show up at one of the sessions, you don't have to give us any notice in the first term as there will undoubtedly be other novices there. If, however, you want to start during the second or third terms please let us know before showing up by emailing the club.
To become a member you are required to have:
- AU (Athletic Union) membership (go to http://www.au.york.ac.uk)
- Sports centre membership (can be purchased with AU membership, or see Sports Centre reception)
- Archery club membership (£12 for the year, or 50p per session for 6 sessions - come along to one of the sessions)
- Wear non-marking shoes without heals (to prevent damage to the sports centre flooring)
- Tie back any long, loose hair
- Wear your glasses or contact lenses if short sighted
- Any experience at all
- Knowledge of how to shoot
- Any of your own equipment, as all you require will be supplied
